Mara is raising her beloved daughter alone, while her ex-husband Karim occasionally takes the little girl for the weekend. One day, her daughter disappears, and Mara learns that Karim has secretly taken her to his homeland of Syria. After many years of knocking on doors, Mara is unable to get her daughter back through official channels. One day, she is approached by former Marine Mitch, who offers Mara a deal: she must help return kidnapped children through covert operations around the world. In return, he promises to do everything he can to bring her daughter home.
