It was with this film that my acquaintance with this family began. A family of funny eccentrics for some, and unbalanced maniacs for others. And it is important to understand whether you find humor funny, because their specific humor and lifestyle is a milestone, having mastered which, it will reveal to you the true values ​​of the Adams family and plunge you into the true atmosphere of their world, which is no longer so dark and sadistic.

What has always fascinated me the most about this film is their attitude to life. Being the most obvious, the most obvious and the simplest evil, they have always remained good-natured. Their views on the meaning of life have always ranged from positive and logical to oppositely absurd. They can easily donate fifty thousand dollars for free, they are not alien to love. And with the same success they separate the flowers of roses from the stem, sleep in coffins under the mournful cries of ghosts, eat what a normal person would refuse to eat, arrange holidays in the cemetery and keep the mansion in primeval chaos: cobwebs, dust, etc. But most importantly, they value loyalty and fairness. And if you were kind to them, they will treat you kindly. In their own way, of course, but from the brightest motives.

But you can’t build a movie on family relationships alone. And to introduce us to this amazing and unique family better, we need a plot. The return of a family member to their home. One of the most auspicious themes for such a film full of family warmth. And, by the way, it emphasizes the main theme.

And the soundtrack … The soundtrack almost perfectly underlines all the irony of this family’s life, gradually immersing us in their world. Music that laughs with its simplicity and uncomplicated nature, but at the same time bewitches with its insidiousness, which plays into the hands of this film very much.

In conclusion, I want to say that you will not find a more interesting, unique and ironic family. Sit back and enjoy the spectacle …

The film spawned 6 sequels for a reason. High-quality filmed, atmospheric, frightening, sometimes bloody horror. The only thing that interferes with this picture is the excessive childishness. But, nevertheless, it was not possible to change the characters in King’s story.

However, I would not recommend watching this movie with the whole family. Particularly memorable is the tough, harsh and clearly childish prologue (with an impressive bodycount). The action smoothly transitions from measured to lightning fast, it is not possible to get bored with this masterpiece, the first half of the film takes place in a whipping up of the atmosphere. Then begins running in different directions, meetings, sacrifices, hearing legends, etc. Isaac and Molokai are just great. Both are typical and charismatic professional actors. You can also highlight Peter Horton and Julie Maddalena, who are also pleasing to the eye throughout the whole picture.

The cinema is replete with biting, meaningful, pretentious phrases, and also has a serious religious bias. I strongly recommend to believers against the ‘Children’. The overall mood of this film was supported by an excellent ending, in which little will be clarified, which will leave some questions. From the very beginning, the positive characters aroused sympathy and sympathy, the negative ones, on the contrary, caused a decent dislike.

Judging by the assessment on the IMDB, many kingon-haters voted, who did not have enough brains, after watching this film, to evaluate it according to its merit, regardless of the fact that it was filmed based on his novel. And this film has everything you need for a classic eighties. One of the best cult horror games.

I was channel surfing the other night on DirectTV, and came across this movie with the wacky title. When I read the nutty plot description and noticed that it starred Ellen Dubin (from Lexx) and Denise Richards in an early role, I selected it out of curiosity. I expected to watch it for maybe five minutes and then get bored and turn to something else. I ended up, however, being really surprised by how entertaining I found this film to be. I knew I had to see what other people at IMDb thought about it. And just as I expected, almost everyone here hated it. I’m not surprised that most people don’t “get” this movie. Those without any sense of camp will have no appreciation for it.

Let me explain something to everyone: This movie is bad, and the people who wrote and directed it KNEW that they were making a bad movie. Most of the characters and things that go on in it are totally, utterly ridiculous, and the filmmakers obviously reveled in this fact, to a degree of aggressive silliness. Realism and reality have little to do with this film. Basically, it’s a send-up of other B-movies–romance, sci-fi, horror, etc–and a clever one at that. But apparently very few seem to have recognized it as such. Do people really think that the filmmakers were just too dumb not to realize that real-life funeral-goers would have noticed a huge T-rex watching the burial service from behind some shrubs just a few yards away? Or that the creepiness of the tender love scenes between Tammy and her grotesque dinosaur “boyfriend” was an accident? The movie’s deliberate outrageousness and low-mindedness is what makes this movie fun and is the source of some of its funniest moments. For the first half of the film, I couldn’t believe what I was watching, and couldn’t believe that anyone would make a film like this.
