Watching the next installment of ‘Fast and Furious’ in the hope of seeing something sane is like believing a drunken alcoholic that this time he’s definitely off the wagon. Well, I did, more than once and more than twice. Probably because nostalgia is the strongest feeling. Stronger than love and hate. You see the familiar childhood credits of ‘Fast And Furious’ and you believe like a 13-year-old that something very cool is about to happen. That’s what all the kids in class say. It’s true that I’m already in my fourth decade, and after the ninth part I have no more faith in ‘Fast And Furious’ than in the domestic car industry. Still, let’s answer the questions from the annoying advertising of the noughties: ‘What? What if?

I’ll tell you at once: Dominic Toretto does not go to the past driving a black ‘Dodge Charger’. And he’s not chasing dinosaurs either. True, the dead do come back to life, but I won’t spoil it. But the family… It’s looking more and more like a big gypsy tabor. In the tenth movie, there are VERY many secondary characters who appear for a couple minutes. But they’re all the Holy Family: Dominic’s grandmother, Mr. Nobody’s daughter, Elena Nieves’ sister, Deckard Shaw’s mom, etc. etc. etc. Why are they all here? I never realized what all these pointless cameos gave to the plot. You should have never seen those extras! They would have been better off giving even more time to Dante Reyes played by Jason Momoa!

Heck, I never expected Vin Diesel to let someone overshadow his own ego in his favorite brainchild. And Momoa did it with one left! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such a delightful villain: crooked as Heath Ledger’s Joker and charming as Tom Hiddleston’s Loki. A pompous and mannered metrosexual, a vile psychopath, a devilishly attractive sadist and an evil genius all in one. You’d be hard-pressed to find an antagonist like him. And how much better he looks against Sca– I mean Diesel. He was and still is a stone, occasionally spewing out pathos quotes about family. And his main advantage – the ability to move in space with his invariable iron horse (eh, how many he has already beaten for these 22 years?) almost at the speed of light.

I’ll say more: Dominic Toretto was pushed not to the second plan, but almost to the steam… the junkyard. His prodigal brother Jacob (John Cena) actually showed that a healthy jock wrestler can be a very good actor. The chemistry between uncle and nephew is orders of magnitude stronger than that between father and son, no matter how hard Dom tries to teach his son the basics of street racing. Perhaps the second discovery of the tenth ‘Fast and Furious’ is the very strong tandem between Jacob and Brian. In fact, if I were the head of the family, I’d think hard: is this my son? He looks like he’s more like his mom was having an affair with Roman. Speaking of the latter. He not only generates jokes for 300, but also closes his gestalt of becoming a ‘Super-Alpha’. Not much to say about the others, though. We’ve got another unusual duo coming up – Letty and… potentially another member of the Family, which like a black hole is swallowing good and bad, good and evil. One wonders who will be the next to be imbued with Dominic Toretto’s family values in the eleventh movie.

You know what’s missing from this movie? You’ll never guess (Dante laughs off-screen). Racing! Yes, yes! There’s not a lot of actual racing in Fast and Furious! Only three races in two and a half hours! That is, the Family members will spend half an hour or less behind the wheel of the cars. I must say that the races turned out to be impressive, much better than the last part, but … I think I’m having déjà vu: trying to harpoon a car, faith’s jump from a steep precipice, driving through a tunnel, throwing heavy objects tied with a cable…. Hmm, I think we’ve seen this somewhere before. Like the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, the dark alleys of London, the palm trees of California, the highway between the rocks…. We can say that these are references to the previous films, or maybe it’s just self-repeating, because the tenth film almost doesn’t reveal any new bright locations. Except one. Well you have already seen it in the trailer.

And what takes up the rest of the time? Well, first of all, fights. There’s a lot of them, like in a good Asian action movie. More and more family members reveal their hidden talents to beat up armed special forces in full dress uniform. Whether you’re a hacker or a housewife, if you’re imbued with Dominic Toretto’s family values, you’ll get 100 xp to your punching power. Works like a charm. Ask Mia Tor– O’Connor. Speaking of Paul Walker. You won’t see anything new with the late actor. Maybe it’s for the best.

Secondly, there is a lot of dialogs and just chatter, not always necessary. On the one hand, we will see new facets of old characters and a little bit of drug addiction (if by the latter we don’t mean the plots of all the movies in the series, starting from the fourth one). However, the constant switching between different storylines of characters scattered around the globe quickly gets boring. After all, the plot is practically in place! And it is understandable: after all, ‘the last race is just beginning’. There are two more movies ahead of us, so we have to make time. Which Louis Leterrier’s team is successfully doing.

The new “Fast and Furious” still managed to fail. And where no one expected it – in special effects. Budget of 340 million dollars? I wonder how much of it went to Vin Diesel’s bald head? Because the movie doesn’t look like that amount. More and more stunts are done against a green screen, and it’s conspicuous. It’s even a bit of a shame, because ‘Fast and Furious’, even in its late hypostasis, bribed with live, naturalistic pictures of accidents and destruction. Now they are less and less. Although I would not say that the degree of inadequacy is so high. Rather, it has rolled back to the level of the sixth movie. It’s still nonsense, but the feeling that the writers have smoked all the weed in Chu Valley is gone. And that’s more of a plus than a minus.

And you know, I’m giving ‘Fast and Furious’ another chance. I will still watch it, because nostalgia is a terrible thing.

Each new part of ‘Fast and the Furious’ not only consistently collects a decent box office, but over and over again surprises the viewer with new tricks and madness happening on the screen. What the team of Dominic Toretto did not do and what laws of physics did not break, and still the creators always find something to surprise. The ninth film of the franchise was no exception in this regard, although in terms of the level of drive it still did not reach the previous part.

In the storyline, everything is as usual – a new threat to all of humanity looms on the horizon, and the next bad guy is Toretto’s younger brother, Jacob, played by John Cena. However, ‘played’ is strongly said, but more on that later. And now we need to make an important clarification. The ninth ‘Fast and the Furious’ tries to immerse himself in the personality of Dominic, making him a more prominent character (like his newfound brother), which means that the viewer will have constant flashbacks and serious family conversations. And this is not the kind of content that you expect from Fast and the Furious, especially when it is served on the most serious cabbage soup without a bit of self-irony. Because of this, the narrative sags, the dynamics falls, and the attraction turns into some kind of stuffy melodrama. Any other film could be commended for trying to reveal the characters and their past, but here it just doesn’t work, it’s not fun to watch.

With the action, everything is as always good, but at the same time, personally, I still lacked some kind of ‘wow’. Yes, the action is quite inventive, there is a lot of it, but in one form or another we have already seen all this before, and you will hardly surprise anyone with overturning armored vehicles, as well as the ‘fem-power’ battle scene. By the way, this time ‘Fast and the Furious’ lives up to its name – there are really a lot of pursuits in the film.

Moving on to characters and caste. In the ninth film, some of the heroes from the previous parts returned – Mia, Han, Sean, but they didn’t make much of the weather, just a nice fan service, nothing more. Minor characters like Roman and Tezh, as always, delight with their spontaneity, and the lion’s share of humor rests precisely on them. But the absence of Rock and Statham disappointed – the film clearly lacked their charisma. Vin Diesel himself played the role of furniture, even though the plot of the ninth film is more personal for his character. There is practically no energy from Diesel, and his attempts at acting cannot be taken seriously. Roughly the same can be said about John Cena, but at least some kind of living light is burning in his eyes.

Verdict: ‘Fast and the Furious 9’ is still a bright and cheerful action that sincerely tries to amaze the viewer, but with varying degrees of success. However, if you do not often watch blockbusters-attractions, then ‘Fast and Furious 9’ will surely leave a vivid impression. The rest is a standard project for the franchise, with everything that fans love the series for.

Fast and the Furious 2001 was a real discovery, a breakthrough if you like. The film raised interest in street racing to unprecedented heights, and Vin Diesel and Paul Walker turned into real stars. The subsequent “Double Fast and Furious” and “Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” certainly have a place to be, but they could not reach the first part. And now, after long months of waiting, “Fast and Furious 4 comes out on the screens, which under one dome gathered all the heroes we already missed.

Let’s say right away that the plot has never been a strong part of the series, nobody really bothers about it. It was made very simple and clear to anyone, and this is definitely the right move. It is made in order not to distract the viewer from the main feature – racing. The beauty and entertainment of these events to the fourth part has reached really incredible heights. All these are flying cameras, jumping from jumps, sharp turns at breakneck speed and of course the cars themselves will not leave anyone indifferent. Plus, in the film, this kind of racing debuted as racing in a tunnel, as it turned out on the viewer, they produce an almost hypnotic effect.

In addition to racing, as already mentioned, in the new afterburner there are all the main characters from the previous parts. It seems that without these people further development of the franchise seems impossible. And it is not surprising, because it is a pleasure to watch the local heroes. In general, everything is in its place and play their roles for one hundred percent.

The soundtrack is traditionally no complaints, it is made at a high level, in other matters like the whole movie.

As a result, we have a highly concentrated, freshly squeezed, thoroughbred, thoroughbred action of the highest order, which every self-respecting fan of high speeds, smart cars and beautiful girls should see.

It so happened that when I came to the cinema, the session “Fast and the Furious 5. was closest. “Well, not bad, I thought. But there were no particular hopes for pleasure: the fourth part was not fully reviewed, the third part disappointed at all in the absence of the usual cast, and only the first and second parts really liked it. And suddenly

The film captures from the very beginning. The release of the hero of Diesel shot very fast! And in general, the whole film looks in one breath, there is not a single extra moment.

Many times I heard opinions that in 1, 2 and 3 parts there is no special scenario, the whole point is racing. Controversial statement. But you can’t say so about the fifth part.

As for the game of actors, there are also no complaints. It always seemed to me, starting from the first part, that the hero Paul Walker dilutes the company of brutal racers. Now for some reason this feeling is no longer there. However, he played very well, especially in the scene where Brian finds out about Mia’s pregnancy. This, in my opinion, is one of the most touching scenes of the film as a whole.

Vin Diesel was somehow especially nice in the fifth part. Particularly pleased with the scene where his hero Dominic Toretto brazenly states the police that “This is Brazil!”, And here they will not be able to arrest them. Diesel game, as always, greatly pleased. Very well he goes to play people with a difficult character like Toretto.

The hero of Dwayne “The Rocks” of Johnson did not cause any particular emotions in the main part of the film, but at the end of the film the writers came up with a very drastic change in the character of his character, and it became much more interesting to watch.

Separately, I would like to say about the fact that a very profitable step was to gather all the actors from all four previous parts into a single team. Watching how they worked was very interesting and exciting.

To summarize, I can only say that the film is worth watching. It is not only for those who love racing and cars.

Another plus of the film is the actors. Here it is not a question of Vin Diesel’s solo project, “Fast and Furious” is imbued with team spirit, which also imbues actors. Together they formed a single link, balanced and extreme.

And the most important thing for “Fast and the Furious” is realism. It’s amazing how every detail relating to racing and auto matches reality. There could not have been without the love of the creators to the machines, because without it it’s impossible to shoot the scenes with car assemblies so primitively.

So, the result. “The Fast and the Furious 4k” became a cult picture, a legend that is clear to absolutely everyone – both drivers and pedestrians. And also about this film it is possible to speak with warmth and respect because it became the first landmark of the legendary pentalology. Review Furious 6
Preparing for the final
After seeing the “Furious 6” yesterday, I was not ready to write about it right away, because there were details that I wanted to review from the previous parts, in order to understand whether it was a plan, or still closing holes.

After the first three parts, which were tightly related to the stretch are connected with each other, we decided to try to make the whole picture, but considering the output of the 7th part in the near future the picture is still not exactly intact.

To start, I’ll start with the plot, after the case in Rio Domenic and co entertain as they can, everyone is rich, but there is no sense of freedom for them when Hobbs Domenicu gives a chance to reunite the whole family and find the allegedly lost Leti and confront one of the most dangerous people of criminal peace – Aries Shaw.

Justin Lin, it’s clear that he obviously did not strain his work with the script, like we see attempts to bring the entire picture under a single whole even to the “Tokyo Drift” and this certainly deserves respect, but there is too much pragmatism, the film was very easy to read and that’s actually already by the 30th minute it became clear to me what will happen in the 7th part and what will be the end of the sixth. Although, of course, shooting is excellent, very dynamic chases, excellent battles, and the analog f-1 cars are simply gorgeous, so shooting and dynamics by 5 in the movie, it’s a pity the scenario pissed.

As for the actors, then Luke Evans – the main villain, played great, in other things in it I had no doubt a gram. Paul Walker – played great, as in the whole franchise. Tyrize Gibson pleased in the movie of course he is not weak, the most comical hero no doubt. As for Diesel and Rock, I have a neutral impression of their game.

We are waiting in the next part of Jason Statham.

If you look at the whole picture, then the Furious 6 is shot as I expected, beautiful and predictable, but I liked the attempt to connect the previous parts, but there is still something to work on, and the main ones do not upload all the material to the first trailer, but still in the 7th part I hope to work out a better script, the material is more than enough … Is it worth it to go to the cinema?
