King Kong is the greatest character in the history of cinema. The revolution that ‘King Kong’ of 1933 was made by Peter Jackson in 2005 tried to repeat it. Jackson’s film is certainly worthwhile, but not a masterpiece. It is far from the old films.

The 1976 film is a true remake with a capital letter. As you know remakes and sequels are much worse than the original, but this film breaks old stereotypes. This movie departs very much from the original Kong, but the center is still the theme of ‘The Beauty Has Killed the Beast’. Now it’s not dinosaurs that try to kill Kong on the island, but a giant snake. The natives on the island are still also afraid of Kong, but now consider him their deity. Such changes did not affect the atmosphere much, but gave us a fresh story about a giant gorilla. Very interesting (to me at least) was the fact that Kong now climbs not the Empire State Building but the World Trade Center buildings, deftly jumping from one tower to another as he was bombarded (not by planes now) by helicopters.

Dramaturgically, this film far surpasses both Jackson’s creation and the 1933 film. All of the actors who played in this film were acting students, back when Hollywood still had some respect for acting. Not like they do now! Nowadays, almost every Hollywood movie is a complete failure on the dramaturgical side. Their acting is already at the level of ‘children’s drama circle’. I really liked the image of the heroine played by Jessica Leng. But her character looks a little bit abnormal (maybe it’s because of what happened to her). That’s the image I remember the most.

The special effects for me, a spoiled person, seem ridiculous, but of course I understand that there was no technology like today, and as soon as I think about it all goes away and the special effects seem to be quite decent to me. Bottom line: This is a great movie and a worthy remake of the 1933 film. I will even say more this movie is a sci-fi masterpiece, as such interesting movies are rarely made nowadays.

That chic distinguishes this part of the Batmenians. And let someone blame Joel Schumacher for his passion for theatricality and excessive pretentiousness, but … But this is exactly what is called chic when it comes to comics.

He does not know the measure. Whether it is new Batman toys or the number of question marks of a poisonous green color on the costume of Edward Nigma. And this is his cinema style, his word in this legendary story about the Dark Knight Gotham.

Schumacher managed to breathe into the famous comics that something new that was sometimes lacking – he mixed and shaken everything he could. And each stroke of his picture as if shouts: “Nowhere else!

Val Kilmer will be another Batman. Another Bruce Wayne. He has nowhere to hurry and no one to compete with, and he manages with extraordinary ease to overtake all his colleagues in this game of Batman. He finally combines both sides of his life – in his billionaire there is no excessive tediousness, and his night avenger has the charm that he always worked flawlessly on the girls. And the glasses do not make it commonplace, and the cloak – ridiculous. Neither before nor after him has anyone been so playfully able to combine both these halves, which makes him a real Batman, if that is of course at all possible.

The beautiful Nicole Kidman has little resemblance to the doctor, but actually, only one thing remains for Chase Meredian: to hear the sacramental “I am Batman!. Her grace and innate aristocracy gives her a chance to become the most spectacular friend of Batman. Together with her, the butler Alfred and Commissioner Gordon are the standard set for the Batman mansion.

Pepper in the story adds a colorful couple of bad guys, each of which is so good that it deserves a separate film and the main role. Tommy Lee Jones – so was a two-faced before the universal Nolan boom. His Harvey Dent is terrible just for its comic and frightening dependence on the very happy coin. A perfectly tailored two-piece suit, the two halves of his face, twisted in a devilish smirk, all aspects of his life by an honest prosecutor and a supervillain find some balance in his personality. Only one person can sympathize with his insane desire to avenge Batman. Edward Nigma idolized Bruce Wayne, but there was no such power that could cool his hatred for the idol who destroyed his dreams. And there is no such actor who would be crazier than the magnificent Jim Carrey. He has the gift of being crazy, losing all of himself in his heroes, far from normal. And this gift, combined with incredible plasticity and tremendous ability to transform, makes him forget about Jim himself when he tries to keep himself in hand, surrendering to the power of a new riddle. Such a tandem does not just keep Batman from being bored, he makes him think about his partner. And here Robin comes in, having the opportunity to shine in the rays of Batman’s glory.

By bringing such a company, Schumacher gets such a weapon that will not leave indifferent any fan of the brightness and madness of the comics about Gotham.

The Little Mermaid is a cartoon with a special atmosphere. He differs from the other unusually sincere “teen” romance. The first love, the controlling father, loyal friends, the sea and the ships, dreams and overcoming obstacles to their realization – all this is in the cartoon. Plus, it is beautifully drawn. It’s hard to imagine how artists hand-painted so many air bubbles! There are millions of them! But thanks to such a detailed study, the underwater world looks believable. “Little Mermaid” – a very colorful picture.

Beautiful and unusual in the cartoon not only sea and terrestrial landscapes, but, of course, heroes of history. Little Mermaid Ariel is a very young girl with a bright personality. Her character is a combination of youthful maximalism, childish openness in the expression of emotion and “irresponsible curiosity with determination, independence and strength of mind. And her big eyes and fiery red hair make her look different from other “Disney princesses.

Prince Eric, beautiful, kind, responsible and courageous, perhaps, one of the best fairy princes. He is somehow especially calm and reliable. And the most “non-standard” hero is Triton. It is difficult to remember at least one cartoon with the same father of the main character. After all, he behaves like a real dictator: strong, hard and uncompromising. But Triton loves Ariel more than other daughters, and the character of the young mermaid is more independent than that of the sisters, which is why he worries about her more. Give your daughter the freedom to choose or continue to control her every step? By the end of the film, Triton will resolve this dilemma for himself, and he realizes his mistakes, after all, is not so callous.

In this cartoon, even every minor character has memorable moments. Everyone remembers the “crazy chef, the witch Ursula and her two moray eels, the positive dog Max, a friend of Ariel Flaunder. And the most amusing hero – is the sea gull Scuttle. His “romantic song” makes the audience smile, and indeed, in each episode, he is very funny. And, of course, you can not forget about Sebastian. Musical scenes with his participation add to the picture and positive, and romance.

About first-class music in the “Little Mermaid” should be said separately. No wonder the cartoon composer Alan Menken received the Oscar for his work on the cartoon. Each song (in the original version) is a real hit, which creates a special mood. Incendiary and rhythmic song “Under the sea” is impossible not to sing along. Smooth and melodious “Kiss the girl” in the funny performance of Sebastian from the very first notes tunes in on romance. Well, “Part of your world” perfectly conveys the experiences of the main character.

The Little Mermaid is a cartoon at the same time funny and touching, naive and serious. He does not grow old even today, attracting with his sincerity and musicality. And it is correct that the creators of the picture departed from the original G. H. Andersen and completed all the “happy ending”. Andersen’s Little Mermaid – a symbol of sacrificial love. Her tragic story is more likely for adults. Children believe that good and love always win. And the beautiful “Disney cartoon about how the Little Mermaid realized her dreams is another kind fairy tale that helps the audience of any age to believe in a miracle.

“Patriot 4K” is not a historical blockbuster, although it is similar to such films as, for example, “Troy” and “Kingdom of Heaven”. But if there is almost all the action taking place on the battlefield, then the “Patriot UHD” – a movie more diverse, and it pays more attention to the main character. Mel Gibson as a father-avenger looks very cool, and moments when he comes across the hated soldiers who encroached on his family, he simply has no equal. It’s amazing how he manages to look so calmly in one frame, and in the next already with fury time to cut opponents to pieces! And the very image of Benjamin Martin is in fact an image of a kind and loving father who, without intervening in the war in his house, would have spent the rest of his life with his family in his plantation.

In general, the most interesting thing in the film is the struggle of the main character against the strength that took the life of his son and many more innocent people. And not the War of Independence itself, which, as it usually happens in movies, is shown with excessive pathos and talk about patriotism. Fortunately, Mel Gibson and the beautiful action have pushed all this into the background. “Patriot” turned out to be a little protracted, but spectacular and beautiful military insurgent. Personally, I thought there was less drama than an action movie. Because there are a lot of battles and all of them are very cruel – the scenes with an ax are simply incomparable, such in historical blockbusters you just will not see!

In addition to the original line of revenge and spectacular massacres, there are many scenic scenes in the film. This 4K movie, which is simply nice to watch, even when nothing really happens or there are political dialogues that are not interesting to everyone. And, of course, for Russia, American wars are not the same as the Great Patriotic War, in which Hollywood loves to extol American soldiers the most, although the whole world knows the truth about who owns the victory. But that’s not the point. Stamps in “Patriot” is not so much, beautiful kinds, bloody battles and excellent actors abound. Even if it’s a military drama, not an action movie, but in any case, the film deserves the closest attention. And do not need comparisons with the “Brave Heart”, the movie turned out not better, not worse, it’s just excellent.
