The focus for the hour and a half is Marcel, an anthropomorphic shell the size of an inch with one big eye and small shoes.

Behind the scenes is Dean, the film’s director, who, after the breakup of his marriage, moves into a house rented through Airbnb, where he meets Marcel, his grandmother Connie (voiced by Isabella Rossellini) and Alan, Marcel’s favorite dust bob, which he drags around on his hair from the bathroom drain.

Dean becomes curious about what the shell does, he decides to make a documentary about his life. And it turns out that Marcel wants to find his family, who one day disappeared from the house.

The story with Marcel began in 2010. It was a short cartoon with a running time of 3 minutes and 20 seconds. Marcel simply talked about himself (in Jenny Slate’s voice, which is her calling card in her acting career) and what he does with his life. In 2011, the cartoon was officially screened at the Sundance Film Festival.

Then two more short spots came out in 2011 and in 2014, each accompanied by the release of a collection of short stories featuring Marcel.

A very important message in the film is that even a seashell doesn’t let up. Marcel is looking for his family, exploring the world, finding ways to set up his life, making rules and taking care of his grandmother Connie. The subtext is a reminder of how important it is to be sincere and direct and to spell out all your feelings, so that they don’t accumulate and get confused over time, which then makes it difficult to properly address them to the person you’re talking to. I was touched that during the excitement, Marcel asks a very unexpected and therefore touching question: “Have you tried raspberries?”

The story is very nicely done from a technical point of view. It is completely made so that the viewer is literally on the floor, as if looking at the familiar world from new sides and angles. All the objects are huge, light and shadow are perceived differently, you begin to feel like “a small piece, but connected to the whole world” and even the usual problems are perceived in another dimensional category (at least for an hour and a half).

So we waited for the new ‘Halloween’. I had mixed expectations of the film. I didn’t expect a masterpiece, but I didn’t believe in failure either. So, in fact, it happened.

I’ll start with the plot. The film will periodically throw us back into the past. This is necessary to build logic in the present. It’s boring to watch, but you have to. What about the present? And then imagine Michael Myers survived, that’s so amazing news. If anything, it was sarcasm, since there is nothing surprising here. This is where I finish talking about the plot, the essence is clear, and the rest is already on the screen.

What I didn’t like about the film. And I’m not going to talk now about the readability of some plot moves or twists. In slashers, this is a common thing. And there is no point in talking about clichés. It is clear that if a person runs away, he will surely stumble. And if a policeman shoots from a couple of meters, then of course he will not be able to hit the target. And if a maniac is a couple of meters away from you, then he will surely suddenly disappear in an incredible way. I already perfectly understand this. Another thing upset me.

The actions of the characters in the film are sometimes striking in their stupidity, with dialogues sometimes the same trouble. It seems that this is also a familiar thing for slashers, but sometimes it seemed to me that the film lacked some kind of naturalness or something. Some heroes think very one-sidedly. This is typical for some kind of robots or computer programs, but not for humans.

Now that I liked it. These are murders, of course. In the film, they are shown very cynically, cruelly, but not banal. Those. we do not see the usual ‘death for the sake of death’ scheme, here all the anger of Michael Myers is directly transmitted through the screen.

I can’t help but mention the ‘Halloween’ soundtrack. How amazing he is. There are soundtracks – the calling cards of films. For example, ‘James Bond’, ‘Mortal Kombat’, ‘Terminator’. This one belongs to the same category. It just gives you goosebumps.

Very carefully about the ending of the film. Alas, this is my sorrow and pain. It seems that everything ended well, but no, the creators had to go into the lyrics. And that’s understandable, ‘Halloween is killing’ is just a springboard for ‘Halloween ends’.

As a result, I don’t like springboard films. I understand the creators, extra cash will not hurt them. But it’s not so straightforward to do something. I believe that ‘Halloween is Ending’ will still be able to put a spectacular end. Otherwise, what was the point of all this?

The film “Witch Hunters” definitely refers to those films that are worth watching in 4K. All these special effects, which are in a completely different reality, surely cannot leave anyone indifferent. And I didn’t regret at all that I decided to watch this movie in a cinema. After all, it’s really worth it.

I liked the movie. Good music, a good play of actors, a spectacular action – all of this is mixed together and we get a bloody and dynamic action film, filled with cruelty, but not sparkling with a special meaning.

If you decide to watch Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 4K then you should not expect that this movie is too big or full of genius.

The film is more for those who want to laugh, relax while watching and admire the bloody and spectacular scenes. After all, special effects are really the strength of this film, for which, in my opinion, actually, this spectacular movie is worth watching.

The game of actors is pretty good, but nothing good can not surprise. Gemma is sexy and beautiful, and Jeremmey is courageous and strong. The duet was very exciting and interesting, but no more.

The plot, as I said earlier, will not be able to hit anything, alas. But the film “Witch Hunters is not filled with something extra and too snotty, which, without exception, would spoil this dynamic action movie very much. Everything in moderation, without exaggeration and understatement. And besides, this movie is a great reminder of how great it is to watch movies in 4K. The tense and exciting atmosphere will not let you go from the beginning to the end of the session, you can be sure of that!

The film certainly does not pull on something ingenious and super-scale, but if you just want to relax and enjoy the spectacle, then this movie is for you. It looks easy, fast and easy, so good impressions are guaranteed.

Some people go to the movies to be wowed by the superb acting, heart wrenching and well written story, and overall solid production… THIS has good effects? The acting in this film isn’t bad, but it definitely won’t win any awards for it.

The story has characters Bill Randa (John Goodman) and Houston Brooks (Corey Hawkins) piggybacking on an expedition to an uncharted island to test their “hollow earth” theory. Tom Hiddleston plays a tracker, Brie Larson plays a photographer, and John C. Reilly plays a surprisingly funny WW2 vet marooned on Skull Island.

The film takes place in 1973 and loves to remind you with CCR and old technology as if it was a hundred years ago. Kong: Skull Island pays homage to Apocalypse Now quite frequently even though it seems a bit excessive at times.

Kong looked good, almost all the creatures looked cool and all the fights between them looked really good, especially in IMAX 3D. Some of the green screen effects, like backgrounds behind characters, were distractingly bad. Ultimately, you get some great stuff out of all the effects if you’re not looking too closely.

The characters are more hollow than the earth (according to the film’s characters themselves), the story is mediocre, but the effects reign king in this film adaptation.

My suggestion: See it! it’s a blockbuster meant to fill seats, not win awards. Take it for what it is.
