When you look at another Tim Burton creation, you can’t help but wonder if the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is blind.

After awarding the long-awaited ‘Oscar’ to Martin Scorsese, the title of the most underrated director goes to Barton. It’s one thing when film academies persistently avoid awarding Lynch’s or Shyamalan’s films for their atypicality and informality, but what’s so unappealing about Barton? Ordinary viewers have long loved him and gave him all sorts of ‘Oscars’ and ‘Globes’.

His creations have no analogues in modern cinema. Because he doesn’t make dramas, comedies or horror movies. He makes fairy tales. But not fairy tales for children, fairy tales for adults. Sometimes romantic like ‘Edward Scissorhands’ and sometimes mysterious and sad like ‘Sleepy Hollow’.

Briefly about the plot of the movie, New York XVIII century, a young constable with reforming tendencies is sent to the town of Sleepy Hollow, where there is a series of mysterious murders that must be investigated. You’ll say it’s a detective – but you’re wrong.

It turns out that the murders are committed by a mysterious headless horseman, who then takes the heads of his victims, and of course not without black magic. Say mysticism and fantasy – again wrong, this is not ‘Van Helsing’ and not ‘Dracula’. There is a love story in the movie, but it’s not another love story or melodrama. There is no name for this genre yet, for only Barton can come up with it.

The atmosphere, movie sets and sound effects are inexpressible. And also uncomplicated plot and a little humor plus excellent acting by Depp and a little worse, but at the level of Christina Ricci – a rattling mixture that does not allow the viewer to tear himself away from the screen until the final credits.

Separately I would like to say about the performer of the main role. Of course, it is Johnny Depp, Tim Burton’s favorite actor. It is very difficult to imagine any of Barton’s masterpieces without Johnny Depp playing the main role. I honestly find it hard to imagine performing the role of Ed Wood or Edward Scissorhands with anyone else. Depp has a phenomenal talent for getting into his roles, which is epitomized on screen. I think it’s hard for fans of ‘Pirates…’ to imagine, say, Brad Pitt or Tom Cruise playing Jack Sparrow.

In this movie, Depp, as in many of his others, is a bit troubled, nervous, with his own quirks, such as the fearless constable, scared to death of spiders and calmly conducting an autopsy on a corpse or hiding behind the back of a boy helper in the cave of an evil witch. As a hero-lover, he is also very funny: believing in the headless horseman, black magic and spells, he answers his beloved’s accusations of heartlessness: ‘I have not experienced feelings, I am constrained by the chains of reason’.

In general, Depp in this movie is exactly as he was loved by many fans to which I include myself.

It is very difficult to write a review for this painting. Why? Because after watching this film, you don’t understand what kind of emotions remained. The fact is that this is a very unusual movie, it combines a lot. In it, all reality is certainly intertwined with a fabulous, wonderful world, which is full of wonders and one does not want to leave it. It is also not very clear why so many people react very emotionally to the picture and cry. So I didn’t understand. When the film ended, I cried, I don’t know why. I cry and think – ‘Why am I crying?’ I do not understand.

But after the end of the picture, you begin to think over everything you saw, and only then you begin to realize a lot. You understand that this was the life of a hero, just a hero that a man invented. But all this is somehow perceived differently. This is the only fairytale film that impressed me so much that you think that somewhere there is still this fairytale world with all its heroes and wonders. There was an indelible impression from this film and a sea of ​​emotions that cannot be conveyed in words, in order to find them, you must definitely see it. Each person will have their own, unique and inexplicable emotions. I was personally very moved by this movie. This is something unusual, touching, beautiful, interesting, mysterious, leaving behind a lot of feelings.

The whole picture of a very interesting life of one person unfolds before us. And this man in old age tells extraordinary life stories to his son. But the son, who does not really trust his father, soon realizes that many of these fairy tales are true …

The picture fascinates with its unusual and very beautiful setting. Great directorial work and interesting script. The cast is very well chosen. Many actors have very mysterious and unusual faces. There are so many amazingly beautiful moments in the film. Particularly impressive is the episode where the main character is waiting for his beloved on a huge field, which is completely covered with yellow daffodils and it is in the middle, very beautiful. And in general, the whole picture was shot very beautifully. Unusual characters, many beautiful scenery and natural landscapes. Everything about this movie is impressive …

And of course, we must express our gratitude to the person who gave life to this story on the screen. Thanks to Tim Burton for creating this fairy tale, a fairy tale that everyone will understand in their own way and will gain a lot of emotions and impressions …

Sick world of gothic psychedelia.
All of Burton’s paintings have their own unique charm. ‘Beetlejuice’ is the first picture of this director I’ve seen, and even as a child. Since then I am ready to review it every year with equal pleasure.

There are films, such as ‘Mortal Kombat’, which in childhood you watch with your mouth open (what special effects, what action!), And then, a few years later, having already watched ‘The Matrix’, ‘The Lord of the Rings’, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and etc., you decide to watch a childhood film. After 10 minutes, with bulging eyes and tightly clenched mouth, you press STOP. Stop, I think I’ll continue to cherish my childhood memories …

Not so with Beetlejuice. Its special effects cannot ‘fade’. They don’t look pathetic like most other films of those years. On the contrary – every year they look brighter, more interesting and more original.

‘Beetlejuice’ draws you into its sick world of gothic psychedelia. Striped worms, gnarled doors, headless ghosts … Isn’t it wonderful that someone was able to release all these fruits of childhood nightmares from their heads?

Delightful bright magical world. Wonderful live interesting heroes …

The cast is excellent. Everyone played beyond praise, there is no point in singling out anyone. Directing, again … it’s Tim Burton, that says it all. I will not list everyone who took part in this film, let us dwell on the fact that all are great. They all managed to create a truly immortal tape.

I did not intend to watch this work closely. And my wife is opposite. Well of course I had to look. Before that I saw reviews from different bloggers … And … somehow it sufficed me.

But in fact the film is quite good. And besides, it’s Tim Burton. (Yes, I did not pay attention to bloggers). And here and there Tim Burton somehow manifests himself. But then, by the way, you can say that Burton “smells” more expressively in those pictures where Burton is not a director (“The Nightmare Before Christmas”, “Coraline in a country of nightmares”). But I will not quibble. To be Burton Burton or not to be – to decide Burton. And the film is about that.

Teenage boy Jake grows up and develops as an outstanding personality. This is understandable to the audience, but so far not to him. How does this clear up? He knows about something unusual his unusual grandfather. It turns out that his grandfather did not fly off the reels, but sent him information that he went to Wales to the mysterious Miss Peregrine. And, naturally, this can not be a spoiler, because the name of the work is working on it.

The psychologist advised Jake’s parents to change the situation for their son. So the story was fastened. Further the plot only grows stronger. This has been happening since when Jake meets the inhabitants of the house. All with hidden abilities.

Well, since I started talking about one actor, I’ll say a few words about Eve Greene (Miss Peregrine). In the title role – Ace Butterfield. Well, an associate in love – Ella Pernell (in the role of Emma) … Actually here is the picture that every character here is very important and weighty. But I’ll only say more about Terence Stempe (Grandpa Abe). Well, just because it’s a very familiar and famous actor.

And, finally, I’m ready to recommend this movie for viewing. It has everything to brighten the evening. A film for all ages. He definitely will draw attention.

Dumbo is an amazing story of an elephant who can fly with flapping ears.

The story is based on the old cartoon “Disney”, the classic history of the “shaggy” years. I honestly did not see the cartoon itself, I went to the film solely for the love of Tim Burton, and I did not lose. Yes, this is not a dark story that old Tim loves us to rest with, there are no his favorite pieces – Helen Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp. True, there is a new muse – Eva Green.

Denis de Vito (who worked with Burton on the film about Batman, played Penguin), who plays the Medici brothers circus owner, barely makes ends meet. Therefore, as soon as he was offered to buy a pregnant elephant, he immediately agrees. True, the baby elephant emerged as an “ugly duckling, so it is time to pull the hair back on itself.

But, the baby elephant, unexpectedly for everyone, turned out to be prone to long flights, so the larger bigwigs of entertainment began to speak about the Medici, in the person of Michael Keaton (Batman and Penguin, again in action).

What did you like? Yes, absolutely everything, this is one of the best works of Tim Burton recently. The history is harmonious, not prolonged, and most importantly, it looks at one go. Looking at the credits, you think: “I want more !!!. The story is certainly a childish, but takes for the soul.

I did not find the minuses in this picture, some pluses. Eva Green flying on an elephant, for me personally, for some reason, reminded Margarita Bulgakov, flying on the Sabbath. In general, in Eva’s appearance there is something witch, magic.

Colin Farrell for me has long been a benchmark for good cinema and good acting. Here he also did not disappoint.

And yet, despite the impressive star cast, everyone did the computer Dumbo, he is the real decoration of the banquet, the cherry on the cake, you worry about it, you are sick of it. This has not happened since the time of Gollum from The Lord of the Rings; it has turned out so lively.

Also worth noting is actor Jack Nicholson, who not only coped well with the role of the Joker, but also got into the Guinness Book of Records, for the biggest fee from fees in film distribution.

The screenplay script tells the story of the city of Gotham, where crime has long prevailed over law and justice. There is a center of the Megapolis, where everything is fine, where the authorities have a fragile, but at least some control over the situation. And there are backyards, where respectable citizens have nothing to do, where behind every smile is a knife. But there he is, a man in a bat costume punishing criminals who himself once suffered from the shadow world, eventually becoming a national avenger, but … evil does not sleep, the most reckless and dangerous enemy of society appears … The Joker! who has his own accounts with batman.

The film is based on the cult American comics, Bob Kane, brought the creator more than 700 million dollars, spurring the bosses film studios in a new way to look at the genre (live images).

In general, it is time to sum up. Magnificent, directorial performance of Tim Burton. Despite my love for the first part of the franchise, the second is my favorite. In general, we got a grim Christmas tale, which became the latest movie about Batman, filmed by Tim Burton. After his place on the director’s post will take Michael Schumacher, but that’s another story.

Here we see the authorship of Burton even more clearly than the last time. The film envelops an extraordinary atmosphere, characterized, in my opinion, by an interesting combination of bright and gloomy colors, as well as insane characters who do not allow to take your eyes off them. As always, Tim’s film looks pretentiously pretentious, which gives it a special and unique look.

This time the plot of the film told us the story of the formation of such important characters as the Joker: Penguin and Catwoman. Michelle Pfeiffer until no one could surpass how organically for me she looks in her image. For some reason, Halle Berry, Ann Hathaway and Camren Beacondov in the role of Selina have become faceless and unmemorable (although the latter one definitely has a special charm). And what can we say about the magnificent Danny DeVito. It seems that this role was literally created for him and, to be honest, I’m hardly likely to see someone else as a Penguin.

The technical part remains the same inspirational, and the film is still frightening and attracting. These extraordinary plans and decorations. I especially fell in love with Selina’s apartment, which changed after herself. A separate compliment should be paid to the costumers and make-up artists. The image of the Cat turned out to be memorable and very distinctive, and the Penguin’s makeup is just something. To be honest, I would probably not have recognized Danny if I hadn’t known beforehand that it was him.

I would like to separately praise the well-designed storylines. Yes, there are no twists for which the modern viewer has become greedy, but it does not matter. The plot remains quite addictive, albeit simple (especially for fans of comics). Tim Burton was able to give us some of the most memorable superhero movies, for which I really want to say “thank you to him.

I recommend for viewing.
