Film description

After creating the first eight pictures Fellini won worldwide recognition, success with the audience, approval from critics, many awards, scandals and even excommunication. At the age of 43, he managed to achieve full self-realization. “Eight and a half” became a bridge between his early works and a new, perhaps the most original creative period. In this work, the director took a giant step towards modernity, achieving a mirror image of the process of creating a work of art.

The movie narrates the agony of creativity of the director making the movie. Being an artist, he feels the need to create, and at the same time he is a man who is not alien to anything earthly: he communicates with women, children, colleagues, reflects on life and death, dreams. The picture touches the heart thanks to Fellini’s rich imagination and skill. We see the difficult situations in which the hero finds himself, torn between dreams and reality. The movie touches upon the problems of aging, delusion, return to childhood fears that reveal a “window” in each of us, whether we are ordinary people or artists.
