An adventure film based on the novels by Patrick O’Brian.
The action takes place in 1805 during the war between Britain and France. Captain Jack Aubrey is ordered to destroy the French ship Acheron, operating off the coast of South America.
In the first battle, it becomes clear that the Acheron is faster and more powerful than Aubrey’s frigate, the Hesperus. However, the captain continues to pursue the enemy, first in the Atlantic and then in the Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile, ship’s doctor and naturalist Stephen Maturin takes every opportunity to study exotic animals…
