Handsome Texan Joe Buck heads to New York City in search of quick money from love-hungry ladies. But the metropolis turns out to be unfriendly, and women are unwilling to pay for a night of love with a blond cowboy. After a while, Joe runs out of money, and he and his new friend, the lame, consumptive thief Rats, have to come up with alternative ways to earn a living.
