China, early 20th century. In these turbulent times, the established order is reluctantly changing with the arrival of foreigners in the country. The events unfold around three girls: a charming thief, the daughter of the governor of Beijing, who is playing a complex game against her own father, and a girl from the Chinese opera theater, whose father is against her performing on stage. All three find themselves involved in a conspiracy to obtain secret documents of extraordinary value to the country.
