Deputy Sheriff Joe “Dicky” Deacon of Kern County is sent to Los Angeles on a routine assignment to gather evidence. But there he becomes embroiled in the search for a serial killer who is terrorizing the city. The hunt for the maniac is led by Jim Baxter, a sergeant with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. Impressed by Dickie’s police instincts, he unofficially enlists him in the investigation. They are getting closer to their goal, but Baxter has no idea that they are resurrecting ghosts from Dickie’s past, uncovering secrets that could stir up much darker waters than his current case.
