The action takes place in the near future, when all criminals are kept in a special cryological prison – they are subjected to freezing for the period of time, which is given to them by the court. Police sergeant John Spartan, convicted on a mistaken charge, has also been subjected to freezing. However, his experience is needed by the authorities as a dangerous criminal from the 90s of the 20th century is on the loose, and to catch him, they need someone who knows his psychology well. John is forced to pursue the man who caused him to end up in a refrigerator 35 years ago.
