An eccentric youth comedy in which the protagonist, Lane (John Cusack), is dumped by his girlfriend, who leaves him for a more “popular” guy. The unhappy Lane decides to take his own life, but two things distract him from this plan: the beautiful Monique, who has arrived from France on an exchange program, and the upcoming ski championship, victory in which could win back his old love.
