Chip Douglas works as a cable installer; his job is to run TV cable for new subscribers. One day, he found himself at Steven Kovach’s house. As a favor, he fixed the picture interference and also illegally hooked him up to pay-per-view channels. Steven thanked Chip very warmly for this, after which Chip began to think they were now best friends. However, his friendship began to manifest itself in a very strange way—by throwing a party at Steven’s apartment, ordering a prostitute, and taking photos of Steven in her arms. Steven’s patience runs out, and he tells Chip that this can’t be called friendship and that he no longer wants anything to do with him. In response, Chip begins stalking Steven and his girlfriend. In the end, it turns out that Chip is actually very lonely, and that friendship means a great deal to him.
