Nine of Japan’s top animators were asked to create short films based on the theme of “Robots” in order to later combine them into one film. The common element, human interaction with robots, and specifically the consequences of creating life with one’s own hands.

4k movies reviews
These kinds of compilations of various short films explain very clearly why we need all sorts of festivals of student work. To see something cool? No, not likely. To find ‘diamonds’? Not out of the question.

Actually, just look for up-and-coming animators/directors.

I can’t say anything bad about this particular build. It’s pretty straightforward. But on the other hand, everything is so sweet and sincere.

There are some very sincere emotions: awful. LOVE. CONSIDERATION. HAPPY. FEAR.

Well, and the drawing: well, I can’t get past the drawing. For anyone born in the early 80’s it’s a balm for the soul – everyone looks at pictures like this with such joy.

I spent my whole childhood thinking ‘I wish there were interesting cartoons about robots’. And there weren’t any… And they were, as it turns out, just didn’t reach us.
