On the way to fame and success, Fanny Brice had to go from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. An ordinary girl from a run-down neighborhood, she dreams of becoming an actress. Beginning to perform first in a corps de ballet and then in a roller skating show, Fanny unexpectedly wins applause and gets her first serious job offer.
