Adam (Andrew Scott), a screenwriter, lives in an uninhabited high-rise London building, spending his monotonous days watching TV and eating snacks. One day his only neighbor, the handsome Harry (Paul Mescal), visits his apartment; he’s very drunk and asks to visit. Adam lets him in on the second try, the characters quickly open up to each other and talk about the feeling of all-consuming loneliness. Adam’s parents died when the boy was twelve years old, three decades later he still hasn’t recovered from the disaster and sometimes visits his stepfather’s house. It’s just like his childhood there, even his mother (Claire Foy) and father (Jamie Bell) are alive, with whom he can discuss the mistakes of the past in an adult way.
