Three lives. More or less interconnected.
Deaf and dumb Ryu, trying to save his sister from some serious illness, looking for a kidney donor for her.
His girlfriend, a member of the mysterious revolutionary anarchist association.
The boss of a large plant, Pak, who loves his little daughter more than life.
What connects them? Revenge. The feeling is blind and uncontrollable, which will make of any ruthless beast.
Ryu is equanimity itself. Complete alienation from the world. Even when his sick sister screams behind him, he only slowly eats his noodles. No, he wasn’t on purpose. It just happened that his life was unsuccessful. Not to hear, not to say. Just see.
He lives only by responsibility for his sister, one of the few who are always ready to be with him. After all, he needs support. âThe realtor thought if Iâm deaf, I donât care. But if my sister can’t sleep, then I can’t either. ”
The second of these few is his girlfriend Cha. Another revolutionary. She can be called Ryu’s guide to this world, his second head. With those most missing language and hearing.
Pack. The plant manager who just made a cut of workers. He is happy. Look at him, he is very happy. Flies will not offend. But you just didn’t have to touch his happiness. It was not necessary to awaken this very revenge.
Ryu was deceived and he takes revenge on the scammers, Park’s happiness was stolen and he takes revenge on Ryu. Revenge, revenge, revenge … a vicious circle, but destructible.
Jang Wook Park masterfully works with this feeling, thereby making Mr. Venegeance, one or the other. And you sympathize with each in your own way. And you hate each one in your own way.
Revenge is bad. In the name of good, good. Revenge for the good is absolutely neutral. By the end of the film, when all the points are set, you feel sympathyâ¦. But you donât understand to whom. Why everyone understands the title of the film differently.
The scale of cruelty increases with each scene. The blood goes in the most direct correlation with the feeling of revenge as the film progresses, which is symbolic in its own way.
Awesome tape, about a terrible feeling.
A poem about revenge. No more, but no less.
