The screen adaptation of John Boyton Priestley’s novel Caught in the Night, which was Charles Laughton’s first film in the USA, was long thought to be lost. The picture was withdrawn from circulation after the release of its 1965 remake and was found in the studio archives by director Curtis Harrington.
