A group of students find themselves in an abandoned motel called Halfway There. They have no idea that they are, in fact, stuck between light and darkness, the living and the dead. The young men are trapped by a nightmarish monster who has begun to hunt them down. To survive until morning, they need to learn what Riker is and more.

I watched two parts of the movie in one evening. It’s really hard to understand the film, or even impossible for many people. I read a lot of negative reviews. But I personally thought about it after watching it… And I would give it a solid 10 for the idea of the movie. I will tell you why.

We see five young people driving down the highway and they were destined to get into an accident on the way. But imagine that before they each die, they begin some kind of war with death in the form of a monster. Some kind of story and everyone’s death comes differently. If you want to survive, fight. And if a man loses his death, then he’s gone forever, along with this story, which in fact all seem unreal. And if a person wins and stays alive, then everything is erased from memory and only `reality’, which is easier to believe.

And what if in life, too, it happens. What if we, each of us, are destined to experience something like this, before we die… I wondered… And I got scared.

It’s very difficult to write an original script these days. I write short stories myself. And writers, like artists, live their lives by dreaming of writing at least one worthwhile work in their lives. Some succeed. But… Not everyone can understand them.
