Based on the Broadway musical of the same name, it is based on Gregory Maguire’s tale Wicked: The Life and Adventures of the Wicked Witch of the West. The book provides an alternate view of the events of the famous story “The Wizard of Oz,†on which the iconic 1939 movie was based.
The plot of the movie is based on the story of the rivalry between two witches from Oz – the evil Elphaba and the good Glinda.
