For an employee of a large bank, everything goes smoothly until one day he finds out that the world around him is part of a huge video game, and he himself is just a minor character in it. Will he have the courage to rewrite his code, attract the attention of a beautiful girl, and finally save the world? In short, will he make the main character?
4k movies reviews
I will say right away that the trailers did not sell the film to me at all, it seemed there would be a dull comedy by Reynolds, where he tries to portray Deadpool again. But even the reviews from critics were pretty good, gave a chance to the tape.
The action takes place in the video game Free City. A game in which everything is available to players and nothing will happen for it. But the main character is an npc named Guy (in our translation, Guy). A simple bank clerk who gets robbed 20 times a day who loves coffee and gum-flavored ice cream. But one of his standard days, for some reason, he starts to fail and finds his own desires, because he is tired of living the same type of life, in which he cannot even afford fashionable sneakers. Moreover, the bots understand that there is a certain caste of people who can afford everything, here they wear dark glasses, which gives not only coolness, but also distinguishes the player from the npc.
The film is mostly a comedy rather than an action movie, but there are a couple of action scenes, but rather crumpled, and they are not the main idea of ââthe picture. And it is like this, if you are tired of everything, you do not need to be afraid and try to try yourself in something else. It’s a pretty powerful idea that goes very well throughout the story. Reynolds almost doesn’t play deadpool here, and sometimes there are outhouse jokes, but in general he holds on. Jodie Comer and Joe Keery also play pretty well, there is a chemistry between their characters. My only complaint is to Waititi, he plays too krinzh, plus this is added by not his best voice acting, which only enhances krinzh. Yes, I understand that the character himself was conceived like that, well, it comes out too caricatured. By the way, Reynolds also does not have the usual Pyotr Glantz on the Voice acting, but in general the new actor is also doing well.
Visually, you know, but here even excessive computerization is only beneficial, because we are all in a fictional world. Yes, of course, all the game attributes are shown here in a very trite way, so that your grandmother could understand that now such a design has not been made in games for a long time. And in general, the players themselves look like a computer, because they are here as guests in this world. Even the pitching Reynolds, who was spotted in the promo videos, has a good rationale here. Here is the soundtrack except for 1 song, which will get you closer to the middle, nothing else is remembered very mediocre. There is a lot of humor, but sometimes not the best jokes in the spirit of deadpool slip through.
