4k movies reviews
I watched all of Bondiana with Craig in one gulp – first I bought tickets for the premiere day a few weeks before, and then I sat down and watched what was happening here. If in the first and second films you are still trying to compare yourself with the main character and think that he is also a human, like all of us, then to the rest of the parts, and even more so to this one, you approach with the thought that this film is not a supergenic man, but about a superhero who, in fact, does not care about bullets, enemies, shots, stalemate situations and stuff like that. It’s like “Agents of UNCL” or “Kinsgman”, just no jokes and serious shchsch. Did something new in the last part of the film appear? A little, but still there.
Plot
The new film does not stand out from the concept of Bondiana, but it can still surprise with some new curtsies: the authors dared to joke in the last part – at least with bedtime moments: when you watch the film, catch several smirks in this direction at once. There were even a few simple jokes, for a shot, and even appropriate – against the background of the general picture, where nothing of the kind happened in the previous 4 films, it is generally very fresh.
The rest of the plot … Well, everything becomes clear from the trailer: Rami Malek is an absolute evil. Evil, because bad, and because … Well, he has the same thoughts as Richmond Valentine from “Kinsgman”, Thanos or any other supervillain – to destroy the world, blah blah blah and these things. Well, Bond will have to stop him: for the last time. At the very last.
Characters (edit)
I really respect Waltz and Malek, and their names in one film – it could be a masterpiece, but they have no screen time at all. Waltz in trailers – all Waltz, Malek in trailers – almost half of that Lucifer Safin, which will eventually be in the film. I agree with all the reviews from critics who reproach the film for not revealing this character at all: if you remove the main idea that he is evil simply because he is evil, then there is simply nothing left. Lucifer has nothing to empathize with and is just unambiguously bad. And such characters are not remembered – you don’t want to root for him. And if the role of Lucifer went not to Rami Malek, who can drag a number of ordinary viewers to cinemas, but to some unknown actor, then there would be no point in talking about him at all. Character function, character evil, character dummy.
Bond – Craig. Craig – Bond. Nothing new. Thin, pumped up, jumps, fights, shoots, does not dodge bullets, does not turn around at explosions. We all saw this in the first film. Well, in the second. And in the third. Yes, even in the fourth … Hmm, could you really see something different in the fifth?
Outcome
If you understand that you initially go to Bond, then everything falls into place: fights and shootings with a beautiful picture, against the background of bunkers, islands, Italy and other places. A plot in which you need to save the Earth, stop enemies and do everything yourself. You won’t get any mental stress from No Time to Die – it’s the same old Bond that moved from the first films.
With a good soundtrack, a bright picture and a pack of snacks, you can spend quite a good two and a half hours of time. Anyway, we say goodbye to Craig – he contributed to one of the most famous superspy in the history of cinema, and the latest new / (new?) “007” will be compared directly with him. And if conceptually the series does not change its approach and remains the same conservative, then it will be very difficult to surpass this Bond.
