“Scarlet Street” (1945) is a classic film noir in which the protagonist, artist Chris Crosby (Edward G. Robinson), becomes entangled in a web of lies and betrayal. After falling in love with a woman who pretends to be his muse, he falls victim to her ambitions and machinations. The movie beautifully captures the darker aspects of human relationships while remaining a gripping masterpiece of the genre.
