4k movies reviews
The first thing you notice when watching “Transers” is the “viscous” atmosphere of the distant future, which has experienced a catastrophe. In fact, the audience is not told anything about the catastrophe itself in the film, but the stunning landscape of Los Angeles, up to half of its highest skyscrapers filled with water, is impressive! The plot of “Transers” is not that original, but it is quite unusual. I’ll probably never get tired of watching endless stories about sending people back in time, and so for all the stamps of “Transers” I was by no means eager to pay attention to the rare minor flaws in the film while watching it. The interesting thing is that the Empire Pictures filmmakers later went on to form Full Moon, a company that became known to the world as a gathering of hardcore thrash-makers, so I was curious to see Transers and realize that it wasn’t a fake.

By the way, there’s even a real star in The Transer, but only known among the narrow circle of lovers of cheap sci-fi action movies. We are talking, of course, about Tim Thomerson, who plays in the movie the role of Jack, a veteran cop, who went back in time to save the world. It is worth mentioning that “The Transer” has a tangled love line with its special intrigue, and, in fact, the main storyline is neatly “smeared” for the whole chronometry of the film. So there are plenty of interesting moments in “Transers”! I can even say more: the hour I spent watching the film flew for me literally imperceptibly – from one interesting moment to another. So I will say unequivocally: “Transfers” is really capable of falling in love with itself. I must also mention the intrigue in the film, which is so dense and opaque here that there is no desire to think for once about the direction the scriptwriters will turn the plot in – you watch the film with lively interest and without any extraneous thoughts in your head.

What else makes “The Tranters” good is its wonderful idea, which is just about the tranters themselves. On the whole, the Transers are a mystical sect with a dark past, and they look a lot like zombies – the more a person is enslaved by the mind of the sect leader and his evil will, the less he begins to resemble a person and more he turns into a living, mindless dead man. It is only a pity that the film, to be frank, does not particularly cover the backstory of the trans people, although, however, even without that, as has already been said, the film does not let the audience get bored. I would also like to say that while watching “Tranters” the heavy atmosphere of the film made me tense – what can I say: “Tranters” really clings! Sometimes, of course, the cheapness of the film “flashes” when watching it, but for all its antiquity (after all, “Tranters” saw the light a quarter of a century ago) you somehow close your eyes to this moment.

Verdict. The movie “Transfers” is a good old-fashioned sci-fi action film, which attracts attention first of all with its interesting, moderately convoluted plot. As a nice addition to the movie, there is also a quality love story with its special intrigue and the lion’s share of jokes, which are really funny because they make fun of the very situation in which the main character finds himself.
