Film description

In the near future, a variety of technologies are involved in every aspect of human life. But in this technological world, Gray is one of the few people who likes to work with his hands. He restores and repairs old cars. One day, while returning from a client, Gray and his wife are involved in an accident and then in the hands of a gang of thugs, which leaves the woman dead and Gray paralyzed from the neck down. The same rich client offers the unfortunate man an experimental Stem implant that can restore full mobility.

4k movies reviews
It’s not often you get to see a movie with a capital letter. The plot framework here is extremely simple: a guy gets an AI chip implanted in his body, capable of controlling that body. And the main drama takes place in the interaction between the two intelligences on the same vehicle. But how cool and clear it all is framed. I’ll tell you probably what I liked the most.

The movements of the character in general and the staging of the fights. The actor did a really great job of playing up the mechanical movements. The fights remind me of The Matrix, and in a good way. Honestly, I would have paid triple the ticket price to see a sequel with a bigger budget. It’s the kind of action you want to pay extra for. You don’t see that in modern blockbusters from pseudo-talents, because the buzz of the battle scenes here is not in the abundance of expensive graphics, but in the choreography and the meaningfulness of what is happening.

Also impressed by the behavior and logic of the AI. In places the Okam principle is violated, but it is not necessary to achieve the goal. The main thrill of the local AI is that the filmmakers are not stupid. Hence, the plot develops in places in an extremely harsh and uncompromising way. The actions of the AI are structured and aimed only at achieving the objectives. His thoughts are not confined to the ‘kill all humans’ pattern of other films. There are goals – there are methods of achieving them. The methods may be different, the main thing is the result. And it is important that there are no different dialogues a la ‘love is a tangible quantity’, ‘humanity is inside the machine’ and other nonsense.

In addition to that, the film delights in quite a few moments that reveal the essence of the keeper-bank world with military modifications. The beauty of them is that they are used where they are needed. For example, a thermal imager built into the eye, or a cannon in the hand. There are few such moments, but they are good.

In the end, I want to praise both the script and the implementation. The film is watchable in the same breath. There is nothing to criticize in a big way. With pleasure I will review it more than once in the future.
