A church mission leads two girls to the door of the deceptively harmless Mr. Reed (Hugh Grant). Before they know it, they find themselves in his diabolical trap, built to test their faith to the limit. To survive, they will have to undergo a series of elaborate tests and face what defies rational explanation. Now choosing what to believe means a choice between life and death for them.
