The late 18th century. Joshua and Naomi Collins arrive in the USA from Liverpool with their young son Barnabas, in search of a better life. Twenty years later, Barnabas has grown up to become a wealthy playboy who spends his days living it up at his estate. One day, he falls in love with a woman who turns out to be a witch; she transforms him into a vampire and buries him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas crawls out of his grave and finds himself in a world completely foreign to him.
