Mojave Desert, 1982. The wizard Swan kills his teacher Nix, who kidnapped his beloved twelve-year-old girl to force his most talented student to stay with him and not abandon his studies. Thirteen years later, a private detective from New York with a special gift for fighting all kinds of evil helps Swan and the same girl, now grown up and his wife, fight the sorcerer-teacher, who has been resurrected from the dead by one of his other most talented students. The teacher, in his own words, wanted to become a god, but changed his mind, deciding instead to simply destroy our world.
