This film is set in modern-day Los Angeles. Richard Gere plays small-time crook Jesse Lugac, who is heading toward his own demise. This desperate drifter falls in love with “good girl” college student Monica Poikar (Valerie Capriski), but their relationship weakens due to her reckless behavior.
