4k movies reviews
This unusual and unique film by Robert Zemeckis was the very first of its kind. He has a huge number of advantages. It mixes live action and hand-drawn animation. At the time of its release, this film was received by many critics very warmly (which, incidentally, confirms its place in the list of ten best films of 1988 and three Oscars that the film received). It was a very unusual decision of the creators to mix comic cartoon characters and a somewhat gloomy film noir in color. Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a very kind and enjoyable film that opened a new era in animation. After him, people developed a great interest in animation and its history. After Roger Rabbit, there were other films made in a similar way (“Space Jam”, “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle”), but it is Zemeckis’s film, which has become a classic of modern cinema, that is the best film in this genre.

Roger’s plot is chic and interesting. The detective genre in the film is exciting, and the animation throughout the film is pleasing to the eye. Having watched “Roger Rabbit” as a child, I was very impressed. I will even say that I had a slight shock, in a good sense of the word – after all, I have never seen such a film. Another highlight of the film is that for the first time cartoons from the most famous and various studios have come together in it. Such as Walt Disney (Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy), Warner Brothers (Bugs Bunny, Duffy Duck), MGM (Droopy) and others.

But despite such a fun cartoon abundance, Roger Rabbit can hardly be called a film for children (although, undoubtedly, children will love the film). But he cannot be called completely grown-up either (remember how the film begins). This film, as conceived by the creators, is made in such a way that it is interesting for both children and adults. Moreover, in “Roger Rabbit” there is a lot of humor that cartoons give the audience. The funny moments here are similar to those seen in Woody Woodpecker or Looney Tunes. In general, a positive charge of positiveness and laughter is provided to everyone!

The acting is wonderful and professional. People played in such a way that their characters are remembered by the viewer for a long time. Bob Hoskins (the brave detective Valiant, who does not like cartoons), Christopher Lloyd (the cruel and mysterious Judge Rock), and Joanna Cassidy (Valiant’s beloved Dolores) delighted me. I would like to pay attention to the main cartoon characters. Jolly bunny Roger, always getting into trouble, will make you laugh from the beginning to the end of the movie. The mere fact that Roger’s friend, baby Herman, is a dwarf, has an infant appearance and speaks in an adult voice, makes the viewer smile. Roger’s wife Jessica Rabbit (a pretty funny married couple!) Was voted sexiest cartoon heroine (according to a 2009 Cadbury poll among Britons). I remember when I first saw her, I really fell in love with her.

By the way, after Zemeckis’s film, three short films were released, in which Roger the rabbit, Jessica and baby Herman appeared.

My verdict: This movie is amazing! You can, of course, give a rather plentiful list of its merits and pluses, but why? After all, everything is clear. Who Framed Roger Rabbit is an undisputed classic in cinema and also the second best film by Robert Zemeckis after Back to the Future. In “Roger Rabbit” hardly anyone will be disappointed. By the way, I still don’t understand why some critics are against this film.
