Let’s go back to 2003 first. It was not so long ago. Then Captain Jack Sparrow burst onto the screens on his ship. He has furrowed more than one sea and more than one ocean on his ship. And all the stories about him were inspired, all of a sudden, by an attraction from Disneyland. A wonderful experiment, which they decided to repeat again, only with another carousel. Her name is Jungle Cruise.
I am sure you have all heard that a big theater movie today is nothing more than an attraction, a kind of roller coaster. This statement is not always true, but with ‘Jungle Cruise’ it works just fine. This is where you should turn off your brains, sit back and go in search of adventure.
So, Dr. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) long ago heard from her father a legend about a miraculous cure for all diseases. She decides on a long journey to the dangerous Amazon, where she meets the cheerful skipper-adventurer Frank (Dwayne Johnson).
Jungle Cruise is a very colorful and old-fashioned adventure. Thirties, Nazis, endless pursuits and shootings. Definitely, this is not the new Indiana Jones, and no one asked for him. Nevertheless, the adventures of Harrison Ford are now actively filmed, but more about that some other time.
It is very easy to feel the real chemistry between the heroes Johnson and Blunt, even though the viewer is watching a Disney fairy tale about the computer jungle, where computer tigers are found.
Either way, ‘Jungle Cruise’ works great as fun for the whole family, which will even be remembered for some episodes. For example, you definitely won’t get out of your head a German general who travels on a submarine and chases the protagonists. He’s beautiful and played by Jesse Plemons.
So go ahead to the cinema, towards the adventure!
