Since childhood, Alfred Yankovic had been fond of music and loved to rework the words in songs. But his stern father believed that his son should go to work in a factory, not do all sorts of nonsense, and even broke the accordion secretly given to Al by his mother. After going to college, the boy tries unsuccessfully to get a job in some music group, when on the advice of friends he records a parody of “My Sharona” and sends the cassette to the radio. His song becomes a hit.

When I heard that Daniel Radcliffe would be starring in a biopic, I was extremely surprised. Who? And when I heard that there would be a movie about the plight of the original and flamboyant Weird Al Yankovic, I was doubly surprised. ‘How can an actor like Radcliffe, who has a very hard time getting out of his Harry Potter character every time, play such a bright and spectacular artist’, I kept telling myself. And what was my surprise when, after watching the film, I said to myself with complete confidence, ‘I did it!
Al Yankovic is a dark horse for our man. Few people even know such a performer. However, to a westerner, he is one of the brightest representatives of the musical parody genre. Like our Alexander Peskov, for example. So here are Yankovic’s videos, in which he parodies the most popular hits of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Coolio and others. And he does it so bright and funny, that it is impossible not to like him. And it was this parodist had to play in the movie our ‘Harry Potter’. And played well.
About the plot of the tape is hard to say without giving away all the spoilers. But one thing is certain: such biopics you have never seen! You will be incredibly surprised by the plot twists, and after watching it you will definitely go to Wikipedia, and then laugh for a long time) Yes, such a man as Yankovic deserves an appropriate parody.
Fans of recent biopics are highly advised to watch this movie. In addition to getting an incredible positive charge from the story itself, you will discover a new side of Radcliffe (which I actually did). Daniel jumped over his head here: he showed that he can both sing and dance, and even fight decently. The man so to speak! I was pleasantly surprised. So if you’re not annoyed by the accordion sound and you like polka – turn on this movie! An hour and a half of hilarious madness in the style of Zucker-Abrahams_Zucker movies is guaranteed!
