After returning from the army at the end of World War II, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis join together to form a song and dance group. They quickly become popular and one day meet two beautiful sisters, Betty and Judy. Together they travel to a boarding house in Vermont to present a Christmas show there, where Wallace and Davis learn that the owner of the house is their former commander, General Thomas Waverly. Unexpectedly, all the characters find themselves involved in a romantic Christmas mix-up.
