“Gokseong” (also known as “The Wailing”) is a Korean psychological thriller that mesmerizes the viewer with its intricate mysteries and tense atmosphere. Director Na Hongjin meticulously creates an atmosphere of unknowable horror when a quiet village is confronted with a series of horrific and unexplained incidents. The plot revolves around a local policeman whose life disintegrates when strange deaths and illnesses begin to occur in his town.
