Film description

By chance, Ash is transported to the distant past. Together with his car and a double-barreled shotgun he finds himself in the 13th century. In this dark medieval age, people suffer from the forces of darkness. Poor Ash was caught by the good citizens and imprisoned in the local jail. He struggles to convince the judge that he is not a spy from a hostile kingdom at all. He decides to help the people in the battle against the enemy.

To win, he must restore the Necronomicon, an ancient magical book that will help him return to his time. Inadvertently, Ash unleashes the Army of Darkness. How do you defeat the living dead?

4k movies reviews
My first acquaintance with this picture took place a year after its premiere. A child’s psyche, like a sponge, absorbs impressions, and the mind is open to any fantasy. Even a fantasy as sinister as this.

Sam Raimi did not go wrong with the choice of the character playing the main character, offering to star in the film actor B movies – Bruce Campbell. It’s hard to think of another Ash. It’s just IMPOSSIBLE.

I have never seen such an original hero of a thrash movie anywhere else. This cynical grin, these comic faces he makes so professionally, that despite the mystical attributes, everything you see turns into a grotesque farce.

Speaking about the first two parts of the movie, ignoring the fact that they were made long time ago and paying no attention to the primitive special effects, we can certainly recommend them for watching, as a perfect proof of the existence of the standard in the genre of horror-slasher films.

Actually, the third part, which Zemeckis himself had a hand in, breaks the boundaries of the clear characterization of genres. It is a comedy horror with a serious claim to victory in the championship’ Best film with the living dead, the action takes place in the distant Middle Ages, and the main character – suffering from fragmented memory syndrome sporting goods salesman’.
There’s nothing more satisfying than a good friend, perhaps over a bottle or two of beer, to once again plunge into a world ruled by a choleric rationalist cynic with a megalomaniac, a chainsaw instead of a hand and the invariable sawn-off shotgun behind his back.
The film is definitely recommended for multiple viewings.

HAIL TO THE KING, BABY!
