Film description

A group of fashionable young people gather at a rich friend’s chic country house. In the midst of a fun party, the guys decide to play a game of “Bodies, Bodies, Bodies”: they draw lots, and whoever has a piece of paper with an X on it is appointed “killer” who must secretly “kill” the others. But in the process, it turns out that someone really killed the owner of the house. Hysteria and a cascade of mutual suspicions grows.

4k movies reviews
I watched this coolest slasher comedy-satire ‘Bodies Bodies’ about a month ago and it still keeps popping up in my mind from time to time. The first thing I want to mention is the insanely stylish soundtrack. The whole playlist from the movie sticks in your memory for a long time, the tracks were chosen flawlessly and perfectly complement the chaotic visuals.

The trailer does not show how multifaceted the movie will be, it may even seem rather primitive at first, because of the comedy aspect, but in fact it is a really strong and intellectually charged detective with unpredictable plot twists and colorful characters. The film was produced by studio A24, so there is no doubt about the quality, everything is done at the highest level.

Glamorous adolescent nihilism, trends, branded clothes, smartphone shootings, gossip, stylish outfits, pompous irony – this film-cocktail absorbed a lot from the culture of our time. You’ve probably already guessed what the key demographic of the film is. So if you already have a headache from this set of words, it will be better to pass by, but if you don’t, there will only be more to come.

Sensual, lively and refreshingly immodest. There will be so much slang in the film that only Generation Z will fully understand the vocabulary. The whole film from beginning to end is like a tribute and respect to pop culture, the digital generation, TikTok Influencers, youtubers, celebrities and media heroes of our time. That’s why you have to watch the film strictly in the original. It will be very funny and painful at the same time – the film masterfully plays and shows the underside of social media, heating up the degree of satire to insane heights.

The social media metaphor is perfectly integrated into a bloody, funny, damn clever plot with a cheeky unexpected twist at the end.

Speaking of which, dating app Tinder ran a limited edition cinematic horror event called ‘Swipe Night’ in which you could make choices that influenced plot development and helped find the killer. Now, ‘Bodies Bodies’ is literally the same interactive experience, but in movie format.

A sense of humor mixed with ridiculous murders creates a riotously entertaining picture, and the director makes it hard to guess who the real killer is and what is going on at this party. This masterpiece is a sort of hybrid of the ‘Euphoria’ series and the conceptually similar ‘Assassination Nation’ movie. Both are very bright, stylish and crazy in their own way. Other, lower level films from the same format are ‘Tragedy Girls’ and ‘Infamous’.

The entire cast, a particularly young female cast, plays flawlessly, wit oozes out of every dialogue, moods change from friendly to utterly aggressive. The movie is so socially charged that you really shouldn’t show it to children, for the role models of the feisty alpha boss girls will be put aside for quotations, considering how sharp the heroines’ language is.

In a word, it is very interesting to watch the development of events and it is almost impossible to predict anything. Technically, the film is also very creative. As the action takes place at night in a huge mansion, to create an oppressive atmosphere, the light sources are glow sticks, phone screens, etc. Overall, a very carefully orchestrated atmosphere of madness, tension and paranoia was created.

The versatility of ‘Bodies Bodies’ also lies in the presentation of the story through complex dynamics related to the gender of the characters, age, class and inner insecurity.

And finally, what happens in the film we find out a couple of minutes before the credits. And with that understanding, the desire to rewatch the film again will come, considering many aspects that you will miss the first viewing.
