Having risen from the dead, clown maniac Art goes to the laundromat where he meets a girl who resembles him. Meanwhile, high school girl Sienna prepares for Halloween and makes a costume based on the sketch of her recently deceased father. Although she can’t wait to go to the party with her friends, she begins to overcome with a sense of unease. And for good reason. Art, too, has prepared for the party, has fashioned himself a weapon, and is embarking on his favorite pastime: perverted murder.
4k movies reviews
That squeaker that Art decided to (ahem) get is a clear reference to “The 9th Circle,” where Art sat in the subway looking at the main character and then got the squeaker. Moral – don’t forget your roots.
In the year 2022 – Art turns 14, the little guy has grown up. The movie is for his own people. For those who are in the know. I’ll answer the burning question right away – yes, the sequel is better than the original. Leone succeeded in leaping over himself. Cosmically nauseating and brutal as hell.
Genius epilogue, when Art is washing his clothes, ah-heh-heh, while reading the newspaper (is Pennywise capable of such a thing?). That is, Leone is sort of purging his clown. He wants us to meet Art – clean. Hat, black and white makeup, trash bag behind his back, the carnage begins…
Leone floods the screen with blood (so thick you could choke). Art is constantly laughing at the victims. Magic. It even made me want to resurrect the legendary Hershel Gordon Lewis (Blood Feast) for a second. He would have loved it. No doubt about it.
The big thing about the sequel is that Art isn’t alone now. He has a little helper. Have you seen this little cutie? She’s cute! Crazy girl, hair sticking out, teeth chattering, ah-ha-ha. Leone is a joy, damn it. Awesome soundtrack in the background (rocking) that fits Art perfectly.
Atmospheric. The script? Now they’re going to start criticizing it (sister and little brother, corny). Guys, calm down, we’re looking at a movie about a deranged clown. It’s all about the meat, and there is plenty of it. And the locations are clearly more (not just a pizzeria and an abandoned warehouse, as it was in the original).
Ingenious sequel. About the new scream queen. I don’t know where Leone found her. Lauren LaVera is sexy. When she put those wings on, yours truly (Zombion Black, ah-hee-hee), fell in love. On top of everything else, LaVera tried to play (as well as she could, she did). Quite decent (considering the B-movie).
Art’s universe is sprawling. Part 2 has already paid off (Art’s machine-gun fire is money!). Well, let’s get Leone to whip up a threequel, then. Especially after such a brilliant sequel, Art will have a huge number of fans.
Monstrous timing (2 hours and 20 minutes). I was scared myself, but Leone handled it so well, the movie (almost) never falters. It’s a good bash. Fight to the very end…
