The story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which includes the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists responsible.
The terrible truth of modern terrorism
“Patriot Day” tells of the terrible tragedy that occurred at the Boston Marathon in 2013. This picture with separate inclusions of documentary summaries. All the horror of those events through the eyes of eyewitnesses. Mark Wahlberg’s hero is a demoted detective, first patrols the finish place, after the explosions takes part in the capture of terrorists. Involuntarily you think: the usual morning, two brothers gather, take backpacks with bombs and go to the street, as in a shop for bread. And no one stopped them, did not notice them, did not remember them. After the film, I already found out that our services were warning Americans about the Tsarayev brothers, they were even blacklisted. Who would have thought that it was the Boston Marathon that would become a blood bath. But who can even imagine this in advance?
The film tells how we are powerless before the actions of terrorists. A minimum of fiction, a maximum of reality. The atmosphere is just off scale, you literally feel the city and the unfolding situation. I was twenty years old when this tragedy happened, then my heart just froze in horror from the fact that it could happen in our world. This is the terrible truth of modern terrorism. I never understood people who say that American patriotism is licked to nausea. Think about it. Such a tragedy can happen in any country, with any people, with our loved ones.
The shots depict the lives of ordinary citizens before the explosion on the Boston marathon and after it until the capture of terrorists. Some scenes squeal to tears and tears. The whole film thinks: “How do people get to so much damage, kill so many people, injure children …?” A tragedy can be experienced only by feeling the shoulder of one’s companion. Comrade. Only the power of love nourishes us. This movie is about us, about what can happen in the 21st century and who our common enemy is.
The result. The film, based on real events, is not subject to thorough criticism. This is not a paid propaganda or a blockbuster for fast money. “Patriot Day” is the day when our heart beats in unison with human grief.
