Publishing employee Carly Norris (Sharon Stone) moves into a new apartment in a trendy skyscraper nicknamed “the chip”. There she becomes the object of rivalry between two men – the owner Zeke Hawkins (William Baldwin) and one of the tenants, author of popular detectives Jack Landsford (Tom Berenger). A series of mysterious murders occurring in the house leads her to believe that a dangerous ring is tightening around herself. Carly realizes that the unknown killer is one of her admirers…..
