Vatican vampire-hunting mercenaries encounter the very first vampire, Valek (Thomas Ian Griffith), and nearly all are killed. Only mercenary commander Jack Crowe (James Woods) and his deputy Tony Montoya (Daniel Baldwin) remain alive. As Valek prepares for a ritual that can make him invulnerable to the sun’s rays, Crowe and Montoya don’t wait for reinforcements and set out to catch the monster in the company of Vatican minister Father Adam (Tom Guiney).
