The story of the life and career of professional soccer player Kurt Warner.
4k movies reviews
This is not my first sports-themed film, especially one based on true events. This movie ‘American Loser’ tells the story of a professional American soccer player named Kurt Warner (played by Zachary Levi).
Kurt came to the NFL at the age of 28 years old, and that’s in the American soccer, where excellent physical training is required, and not even all players who played, if I may say so, the whole life, get used there, for 10 years becoming one of the best quarterbacks of his time, who began his career in the Arena-Football, after college, and worked as a packer before that. Fate swept this man, through the backwaters of the soccer universe. He experienced what it was like to climb a mountain and then fall from it into a thorn bush, and maybe even worse.
Like I said, I’ve seen a lot of sports (autobiographical) movies, I recently saw ‘King Richard’ with Will Smith, and I can say with certainty that these kinds of movies always focus on the difficult and challenging path of the hero from the very bottom to the very top, on the motivation and the drive to succeed and to win. As for Kurt Woner’s story, his story seems unique because he wasn’t drafted by the NFL. To all this, he started building a family life with a girl named Brenda (played by Anna Paquin) who already had two kids, and considering how difficult it was for Kurt to make it in the NFL, their family life went through a rough patch as well.
I would note the good acting by Zachary Levi, who showed off his dramatic abilities.
And so overall and overall, ‘American Loser’ is a good dramatic sports movie on a topic that is far from new, especially about American soccer, focusing its attention on the unique path of Kurt Warner’s ascent.
