In the year 2022, the head of one of the colonies created the perfect prison of the future. It has no walls, no guards, no cells. However, it is impossible to escape from there. Absolom is a lost island, where the most dangerous prisoners of the country are left to themselves.

Forever cut off from civilization, they live by the laws of primitive society. Some no longer differ much from animals, while others are still trying to retain their human appearance. Marine Captain John Robbins was taken to Absolom after he refused to obey an unjust order. And he is the only prisoner determined to prove to everyone that there are no perfect prisons…

One of the best action movies of the 90s. In general I am a fan of films about prison, but this film is different from others I have seen, because the director of the film shows us future prisons from which escape is simply impossible. Not a poor budget at all, the movie is rich with explosions, mass fights, great sets. It annoys me a little bit when the movie talks about the time to come, it is always very bad, or revolution in the streets, or nuclear war, stop looking at the future as the time of the apocalypse. 2022, all of America’s prisons are overcrowded, with nowhere to put the prisoners. America’s largest and toughest prison has found a way to dispose of the prisoners. They are sent to an island from which it is impossible to leave. As always, there is good and evil in the film, that is, the prisoners living on this island are divided into two companies. The first company of guys is a cruel, hungry and angry guys, the second company is people who have their own village, where they farm and live in prosperity, because among them there are smart people who are responsible for a certain craft in the village.

What is exactly interesting is that there is both good and evil in each of the companies. The two sides are at war with each other, that is, people who have put up with their lives, and live and work with the land, getting their own food, this war is not needed at all, but the evil guys, spilling blood and stealing food, just to their liking. The main character John Robbins got to the island of Absolom, where he felt the danger of this place from the first minutes, he did not survive alone. Interesting movie, this is one of my favorite movies of the 90’s. Watch the movie and find out if leaving this island that is soaked in blood and brutality is realistic or not!
