4k movies reviews
I’m going to defend this movie, too. Why? I don’t know what you’re pouncing on. I’ve played all of Carmack’s creations, too. Wollfenstein, Doom and Quake. I’ve played Doom 3 a few times. The game is a blockbuster, but the movie holds the bar too. Even though the plot was redone and only the Sinner (I mean Dogmatic Theme) was left of Hell. By the way, it’s a shame about this character. You could tell right away by his face – Not a Resident. But a good guy. He loves God. He’s going to Heaven.
The other characters weren’t too bad either. Charismatic cast in general. Scala was a delight. I’m used to seeing him play heroes, and here you have a villain. And what a villain, I would have kicked his ass myself if I was Vince Diesel, and Eric Bana was in backup. Respect Duane Scala Johnson – I didn’t think you were an actor. Wrong about you. Move on.
He’s dealt with, next up is Karl Urban. Good actor – Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Riddick (not a bad track record), worked well here. Played smoothly, and it did not need more.
Next, Rosamund Pike. Nothing outstanding, but I like her. She may not be pretty, but she is an Englishwoman. I can feel her blood. It is pleasant to look at her, she played cool in Bond and as a character in Pride and Prejudice. Here, however, her role is small, the main emphasis was on the Big Uncles, women have nothing to do here.
The rest of the actors put in, too. The blacks, were charismatic. The kid was pathetic. In general, the film is strictly an A+ for human resources.
The monsters are disappointingly few. The game has a bunch of them, but here there are only three kinds. That’s a shame. Although if there were more there would be confusion for non-fans of the game. And this is not necessary.
Special effects are of high quality. The feature with the first-person shooter deserves some praise. Mesmerizing. You can watch and watch. And most importantly, the first to use this trick in Hollywood, but not all over the world. So for example our domestic film BRAT 2 was an innovator of the ‘Out of the Eyes’ kind. The now deceased Bodrov Jr. was pummeling the Americans there. But come on, who doesn’t remember. It doesn’t matter anymore. Two different films. Both are good.
Doom is a great action movie. I can’t assess it to the fullest extent, as the genre does not allow. Not a serious film, but worth watching. Not everyone will like it, unfortunately, but my sister did. And that is a good indicator. That is why I wish there were more films like this and life would be wonderful. Tears come to my eyes when I look at the box office. So what movies did you watch instead of this masterpiece action movie? What? I don’t want to hear it. Traitors.
