Two strangers wake up in a basement, where a man lies with a bullet in his head and a pistol in his hand. They are chained and do not know how they got there. The voice from the found tape tells one of them to choose – to kill a comrade in misfortune or let his wife and daughter die. This is how a brutal game begins, the participants of which have 7 hours to survive.
4k movies reviews
You may either like this film madly, or you will hate it after the first viewing, but one thing is for sure – what you see, even if you try hard, cannot be erased from memory instantly. What attracts films like Saw? It seems to be a minimum of blood, dismembered corpses, murders and atrocities, but it seems that you have one of the most terrible horror films in front of you.
This special atmosphere, surrounding from all sides, is created by the powerful psychological background of the film. Why show death, when you can imagine much more terrifying attempts by a person to stay alive and the inner experiences that he encounters at the same time. Like Dr. Lawrence Gordon, we each have our skeletons in our closets, and it really does get a little uncomfortable at the mere thought that someone might become aware of this.
Then the question arises: how far are you ready to go? Honestly, I would not have had the courage to do what Dr. Lawrence decided to do … Sometimes it is curious to ask yourself, what would you do if you were in the place of one of the main characters? But not in the case of “Saw” – I don’t even want to think about what would have happened if it had actually happened. However, even in this case, one cannot be completely sure – who knows how many crazy people are walking along the streets next to us?
Unprecedented plot twists will not let you get bored for a minute, the creators of the picture throw up various surprises throughout the film, while leaving most of them for the final of “Saw”. Little-known actors (the only exception is Danny Glover) did an excellent job with their not the most simple roles, while I would like to separately highlight Michael Emerson in the role of Zep – his furious look will not be forgotten soon …
In short, an exemplary film in its genre. Everyone can find a piece of themselves here.
