4k movies reviews
Movies with Liam Neeson remind me of movies with Jason Statham, which are also already in a separate category. In the last couple of years there have been several movies with Neeson, and all these movies are similar and similar to each other, except the plot is a little different, but Liam Neeson still shows the same image, though in this movie ‘Flashback’ (original title ‘Memory’) directed by Martin Campbell his image is still a little different.
For starters, I will say that age spares no one, and Liam Neeson is also subject to it, and with each film he looks older and older, but he is still an excellent actor, who should act more in dramatic films, not waving his fists.
The film is based on the novel ‘De Zaak Alzheimer’ by Jef Gerarts and is a remake of the previous adaptation of the novel, the Belgian film ‘Alzheimer’s Syndrome’.
The assassin Alex Lewis (Liam Neeson) suffers from Alzheimer’s and is slowly losing his memory. He wants to quit the business and retire. But his boss gives Lewis a huge sum of money to kill two people in El Paso, but discovers that one of his targets is an orphaned 13-year-old girl, an undocumented immigrant. When he refuses to kill the girl, Lewis becomes a target himself. His murders are investigated by three FBI agents and a businesswoman (played by Monica Bellucci) takes an interest in him.
From being a cop and an FBI agent in the previous films, in this one Liam is already a hired gun (is there a big difference?). This is the type of movie you can skip, but Neeson’s involvement still fuels interest in the film as he is quite charismatic.
I think Liam Neeson looked better in this role than in his previous works, and unequivocally, this film stands out from his previous works.
He had Guy Pearce, who played an FBI agent, added to the cast. Guy Pearce did quite well in his role and it suits him to play an FBI agent.
Monica Bellucci didn’t show much and was in the movie more as a recognizable and famous face (+ her looks).
The action in the movie was on a level, but nothing more than that.
On paper the movie looks spectacular and entertaining with interesting characters, but in reality the movie came out a little better than Neeson’s previous work, who also has his own moral principles despite being a hitman.
