A married couple from the suburbs is embroiled in an international spy conspiracy, when she discovers that their seemingly ideal new neighbors are government agents.
Jeff (Zack Galifianakis) and Karen (Ayla Fisher) Gafni is an ordinary family American couple living in a small suburb. In their area, everything is calm, peace and idyll, broken only by the fact that someone does not clean up for their dogs after a walk. The rest is full order. Having sent their two sons to the school camp, the couple can finally breathe peacefully. But it was not there. In the neighboring house a spectacular couple enters, which is very different from the rest of the residents of the district. The hypocritical Karen notices that something in the dear, at first glance, Tim (John Hamm) and Natalie (Gal Gadot) is not so. When the veil of mystery rises, Karen and Jeff understand that their fears are confirmed. Together with secret government agents, they are entangled in an international cause.
Greg Mottola made a light comedy about what happens when you are too hypocritical. In my opinion, the main task of any comedy is to make the audience laugh. In this picture, I really laughed, so I think that the picture was a success. Of course, this is a film without a special semantic load, there is no need to search for deep morality. A phrase fits perfectly: “You know less, you sleep more tightly.”
In the film, a good atmosphere of modern America, sounds famous music, a lot of jokes, and not too vulgar. Dialogues certainly are not too strong, but this is explained by the characters of the main characters. There are in the picture and the moments inherent in the action movie, they are made quite well.
Of course, many will go to this film for the sake of Zach Galifianakis, who is remembered for his role in “The Bachelor Party in Vegas”, where he was the most “crazy” friend of the groom. In this picture, he is fairly thin, but less comical from this did not. According to the recently released comedy “The instigators”, we have already realized that he succeeds in the roles of simple hard workers. Here he also plays an average worker and a family man. His naivete makes even the most stiff audience laugh. Perfectly coped with his role, Ayla Fisher. She even eclipsed Zak a little, as it seemed to me. Not comedy actors John Hamm and the beauty Gal Kadot also looked great in the frame and fit into the story.
Of course sometimes you want to relax after a hard day, take your friends with you and go see a movie. Here are “Spies in the neighborhood” just for such a case. The film does not exactly load you, it’s a great discharge after a hard day. If you are sad – I advise you to watch, the time for viewing will fly by unnoticed.
